Our Case: Arrests of sex workers in Etosa Lagos State

I am writing to express my deep concern and disappointment regarding the recent arrests of sex workers in Etosa Lagos State. As members of sex workers community, I believe that the resources and efforts of law enforcement should be focused on addressing more pressing issues that impact the safety and well-being of all citizens.

While I understand the importance of upholding the law, I urge the kick against indiscipline (KAI) department to consider alternative approaches to supporting and assisting individuals engaged in sex work, rather than resorting to punitive measures that may further marginalize and stigmatize them.

I strongly believe that a more compassionate and holistic approach, such as providing access to support services and resources, would be more effective in addressing the root causes of sex work and promoting the overall welfare of those involved.

I respectfully request that the KAI department reconsider its current enforcement strategies and work towards developing more inclusive and supportive policies that prioritize the dignity and rights of all individuals in our community.

Thank you for your attention to this matter. I look forward to a positive response and meaningful dialogue on this important issue.

Sincerely,

National coordinator
